Where is my mind?

“In this world of change, nothing which comes stays, and nothing which goes is lost.” –Annie Sophie Swetchine My current interest in the field of architecture began with a semester study in Barcelona. There is a phenomenon that exists there that cannot be applied across all US cities. The theory, as I have named it, is Urban Weeds: the idea that an invasive element comes and integrates itself into a new environment. Weed defined as any plant considered undesirable, unattractive, or troublesome, especially one growing where it is not wanted by the Princeton dictionary. In Barcelona elements invade but are controlled by the residents and thus evolve in a way that is functional for the people of Barcelona. The image submitted is part of the “cause and effect” series of images made in photo shop. The evolution of images grows as a generation of repetitive variation that creates a new image for the city of Barcelona. Not a photo to be taken literally it is the idea that is to come across in the image that is key. The hope I have for the current city is to take what it is given and generate new from that rather than the typical American answer which is: You go or I go!
